Alternative Energies Through Wood Pellet Mill Development Currently, we are just too dependant on fossil fuels for our transportation fuels, heat and electrical production. Not only has the dependence led to the point where many are finding it hard to afford their fuel and energy bills, we have been doing immense damage to our environment through burning these fossil fuels. So what alternative energies can we use to lower and ultimately eliminate our use of fossil fuels. There are various forms of alternative energy, namely wind, solar, wave, geothermal and biomass. Biomass is where we focus our work here at PelHeat. Biomass is energy sourced from trees and plants. Now not all biomass should be used, for example most tree's should be protected. However there are certain biomass resourced which we can use for energy and quickly replace. For example wood species such as willow, which can be cut and coppiced every three years. However willow is just one example, please look at the video below for more. As you can see in the video to use these biomass resources efficiently and easily we have processed them into pellets. These pellets are then fed automatically into the pellet burn to regulate a specific temperature. The benefits are biomass fuel pellets can be made from a wide range of materials, so you can use what ever biomass material is local to you and in abundance. For example, you may live near a farming community, where there will be a huge amount of animal waste and straw. This material can be mixed to produce a very high energy fuel pellet. This fuel pellet could even be used to heat the chicken and pig sheds during the winter. This is just one example of many. We make our own wood pellet mills here in the UK, click below. |
